REGIONAL airlines yesterday asked the Federal Government to spend $30 million to make sure their industry survives.
The Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA), which represents nine regional airlines, said government charges and levies, rising costs and increased competition from cars, was putting pressure on country air services. It wants the Government to subsidise operators of aircraft with less than 20 seats and reduce taxes and charges.
